A TikTok scheduler lets you upload a finished video or photo post now and have it publish later. You have two routes: TikTok's own scheduler, which is free but limited to desktop and a short window, or a third-party tool that publishes through TikTok's official API and lets you plan TikTok alongside your other channels.

This guide explains both, what TikTok's rules mean for any tool that posts on your behalf, and how seven TikTok schedulers compare. Prices and plan details come from each company's own site, as of September 2026.

Can you schedule TikTok posts natively?

Yes, from a desktop browser. TikTok's Schedule video help article says:

  • You schedule from TikTok on desktop web, not TikTok mobile web.
  • You can schedule from 15 minutes up to 10 days before the post goes live.
  • The time zone defaults to your computer's setting.
  • Scheduled posts can't be edited, but they can be deleted.
  • You'll get a push notification in the app when the post goes live.

The same article describes desktop scheduling as available to Business Accounts and accounts with 10,000 or more followers, so if you don't see the schedule toggle, that's likely why.

How to schedule a TikTok on desktop

  1. Log in to TikTok in a desktop browser and click Upload.
  2. Upload your video and finish your edits, caption and settings.
  3. Turn on the schedule toggle and pick a date and time.
  4. Click Schedule.

For one account and a few posts a week, that may be all you need.

When a third-party TikTok scheduler helps

A separate tool is worth it when:

  • You post to more than TikTok. Most short-form videos also go to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Scheduling them from one calendar saves uploading the same file three times.
  • You plan further than 10 days ahead. A tool holds the post and sends it to TikTok at the time you choose, so you plan on your own calendar rather than inside TikTok's native window.
  • You batch content. Film a week or two of videos in one session, then lay them out on a calendar and move them around.
  • You want evergreen posts to repeat. Tips, FAQs and product demos can sit in a queue instead of being re-uploaded by hand.
  • You can't access native scheduling because of the account-type or follower requirement above.

What TikTok's API means for any scheduler

Third-party tools publish through TikTok's Content Posting API. That shapes what every scheduler can do, whichever one you choose.

  • You choose who can see the post. Privacy options come from your account (everyone, followers, friends or only you), and the tool can only offer the ones TikTok returns for your account.
  • You control interactions. Comments, Duets and Stitches can be switched on or off per post, unless you've already disabled them in TikTok.
  • You disclose commercial and AI-generated content. TikTok's content sharing guidelines require tools to let you mark a post as promoting your own brand or as branded content, and the API has a flag that labels AI-generated content.
  • You confirm TikTok's terms. Tools must show that by posting you agree to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation (and its Branded Content Policy when relevant).
  • Posts can take a few minutes to appear. TikTok requires tools to tell you that content may take a few minutes to process after publishing.
  • Unaudited apps can only post privately. TikTok says content posted by unaudited apps is restricted to private viewing, so check a tool can actually publish publicly before you rely on it.

One practical limit: the API doesn't give tools TikTok's full music library. Buffer's TikTok page says videos that need TikTok-only features like trending sounds or in-app effects have to be posted manually through a notification instead. If trending audio is central to a video, finish that one in the TikTok app.

What to look for in a TikTok scheduler

  • Direct publishing to TikTok, not just a reminder to post it yourself. Many tools offer both; check which one applies to your content.
  • The formats you use. Video, single photo and photo carousels are handled differently by different tools.
  • Your other channels. Check the tool covers Instagram, YouTube or whatever else you post to.
  • A calendar and queues if you batch or recycle content.
  • Pricing that matches how you grow. Per-channel, per-account and per-brand pricing all look cheap at one account and very different at ten.

Before scheduling anything, it's worth running each video through the free TikTok safe zones checker so captions and on-screen text don't sit under TikTok's buttons, and pasting the caption into the free social media post checker to check it against TikTok's limits and see a preview. The TikTok image size guide covers dimensions for photo posts.

7 TikTok schedulers compared

Listed with Wahlu first because it's our product; the rest are in no particular order. Every price below is from the company's own pricing page as of September 2026, in US dollars unless stated. Plans change, so check before you buy.

1. Wahlu

Best for: creators, founders and small teams who want TikTok in the same calendar as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn personal profiles, Threads, X, Bluesky, Telegram, Discord, Tumblr and Pinterest.

What Wahlu supports on TikTok today:

  • Formats: video posts, single-image posts and photo carousels. The post editor accepts up to 10 photos; the API accepts up to 35.
  • Files: MP4, MOV or WebM video up to 4 GB; JPEG or WebP images up to 20 MB each.
  • Captions: up to 2,200 characters for video, or 4,000 for photo posts. The first 90 characters of a photo caption become its title.
  • Settings per post: privacy (Wahlu reads the options TikTok allows for your account), allow comments, allow Duet, allow Stitch, auto-add music, AI-generated content disclosure and commercial content disclosure (your brand or branded content).

You schedule from the calendar or add posts to a queue with recurring slots, and you can turn on looping for evergreen content. The Editor is the built-in design tool for graphics and carousels. On paid plans, Wahlu can also build a brand plan from your website and generate captions and images for you to review. Every plan includes agent access through the MCP server and REST API.

Worth knowing: TikTok is still reviewing Wahlu's app. Posts may be restricted to Only me or fail until that review is complete. Read the TikTok privacy guide before relying on it for a public launch. Wahlu doesn't offer TikTok analytics, a comment inbox or TikTok's trending sounds.

Pricing: five plans, billed monthly or annually. See current pricing.

2. Buffer

Best for: solo creators with only a few channels.

Buffer's TikTok page says it can auto-publish many TikTok videos, falls back to notification publishing for ones that need TikTok-only features, and doesn't require a TikTok Business account.

Pricing: Buffer's pricing page shows a free plan for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials is $5 a month per channel billed yearly ($60 a year).

Worth knowing: pricing is per channel, so it's cheap for one TikTok account and grows with every account you add. See Wahlu vs Buffer.

3. Later

Best for: Instagram-first creators who also post to TikTok.

Later's pricing page says it can automatically publish scheduled posts to TikTok, alongside Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Pricing: Starter is $25 a month billed monthly or $18.75 a month billed yearly. There's a 14-day free trial rather than a free plan.

Worth knowing: Later's roots are in Instagram visual planning. See Wahlu vs Later.

4. Hootsuite

Best for: larger teams and agencies that need approvals and many accounts.

Hootsuite's own guide to scheduling TikTok posts says you can schedule TikToks from its dashboard and plan past TikTok's 10-day limit. Its TikTok page says you need a TikTok Business account to manage TikTok messages and comments there.

Pricing: Hootsuite's plans page lists Standard at $99 a month with annual billing, for up to 10 social accounts, with a 14-day trial.

Worth knowing: it's priced for teams. See Wahlu vs Hootsuite.

5. Publer

Best for: budget-conscious creators who want lots of platforms.

Publer's pricing page lists TikTok Personal and Business accounts, alongside a long list of other networks.

Pricing: a free plan with 3 social accounts and 10 scheduled posts per account. Professional is shown from US$4 a month billed yearly and scales with the number of social accounts.

Worth knowing: check Publer's list of networks against yours before you choose. See Wahlu vs Publer.

6. SocialBee

Best for: category-based posting and content recycling.

SocialBee's pricing page says it posts directly to TikTok personal and pro accounts on every plan. Its standout idea is sorting posts into categories and cycling through them.

Pricing: Bootstrap is $29 a month billed monthly or $24 a month billed annually, for up to 5 profiles. There's a 14-day free trial rather than a free plan.

Worth knowing: see Wahlu vs SocialBee.

7. Metricool

Best for: creators who want free scheduling with analytics.

Metricool's pricing page includes one TikTok account on its free plan.

Pricing: the free plan covers 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month. Starter is from $20 a month billed annually or $25 a month billed monthly, for up to 5 brands.

Worth knowing: analytics and reporting are a big part of the product. See Wahlu vs Metricool.

How to get more from TikTok scheduling

Batch your content

Scheduling separates making content from publishing it. Film several videos in one session, upload them, and spread them across the next week or two on a calendar.

Post when your viewers are around

TikTok's TikTok Studio help article says account and video analytics include the activity times of your viewers. Use that as your main guide, because it's your audience rather than an average. Our best time to post on social media guide covers the published studies, which are averages across many accounts.

Repurpose across platforms

Most vertical video works on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with small changes. Upload once, then adjust the caption for each platform. Check each version with the safe zones checker, because the buttons sit in different places on each app.

Use queues for evergreen content

Tips, FAQs and product demos that stay relevant can sit in a queue. The evergreen queue guide shows how to set one up in Wahlu without recycling anything that's gone stale.

Frequently asked questions

Can you schedule TikToks to post automatically?

Yes. TikTok's own desktop scheduler publishes automatically at the time you set, from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. Third-party tools that use TikTok's Content Posting API can also publish automatically, though some content (such as videos that rely on TikTok's trending sounds) may still need to be finished in the app.

How far in advance can you schedule a TikTok?

With TikTok's native desktop scheduler, up to 10 days, according to TikTok's help centre. Third-party tools hold the post themselves and send it at the time you choose, so they set their own limits.

Can you schedule TikToks on mobile?

TikTok's Schedule video help article says scheduling is done on desktop web and isn't available on TikTok mobile web. Third-party schedulers vary, so check their own apps.

Is there a free TikTok scheduler?

TikTok's native desktop scheduler is free. Buffer, Publer and Metricool all list free plans that include TikTok, with limits on channels or scheduled posts.

Do TikTok schedulers affect reach?

TikTok doesn't say that posts published through its official API are ranked differently. What does differ is the feature set: posts published through the API can't use TikTok's full music library, so choose native posting for videos that depend on trending sounds.

Can I schedule the same video to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube?

Yes. Wahlu schedules the same video to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts from one calendar, with a different caption for each platform if you want one.

The bottom line

If you post to one TikTok account and plan no more than a week or so ahead, TikTok's own desktop scheduler is free and does the job. If TikTok is one of several channels, or you want to batch further ahead and keep evergreen videos in rotation, a third-party scheduler earns its keep.

Wahlu suits creators and small teams who want TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn personal profiles, Threads, X, Bluesky and more in one calendar with looping queues. Compare the plans to see which fits.
