Data Deletion

If you connected an Instagram professional account to Wahlu, you can remove Wahlu from Instagram itself:

1. In Instagram, open your settings and go to Apps and websites. In the app it's under Website permissions.
2. Under Active, choose Wahlu and select Remove.
3. If Instagram offers to send Wahlu a request to delete your data, send it.

When you remove Wahlu, Meta tells us straight away. We delete the stored access token, remove the Instagram connection from your Wahlu brand and pause that account's automations.

When you also ask for deletion, we delete the data listed under What we delete as soon as the request arrives. Instagram gives you a confirmation code, which you can check below.

In Wahlu, open your brand's settings, go to Accounts and select Disconnect next to the account. We delete its stored access token and profile picture, and Wahlu can no longer post or send messages for it.

Your posts, automations and their history stay in your workspace until you delete them. Automation run records are always deleted automatically 30 days after each run starts.

To delete your whole Wahlu account, a brand, or anything else, email hello@wahlu.com from the email address on your Wahlu account. Tell us what you want deleted. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to complete requests within 30 days.

Some businesses use Wahlu to reply automatically to comments and direct messages on their Instagram account. Wahlu handles that data for the business, and you don't need a Wahlu account to ask for it to be deleted.

• Email hello@wahlu.com with your Instagram username and the business's Instagram account. We'll delete the records we can match to you.
• Even if you don't ask, webhook events are deleted automatically after 14 days, and automation run records, including your comment or message, after 30 days.

For an Instagram account, a deletion request removes:

• the Instagram connection: its access token, account IDs, username and profile picture;
• that account's automations in Wahlu;
• their run records: the comments and messages that triggered them, the Instagram-scoped IDs of the people involved, and delivery status; and
• the webhook events Meta sent us for that account.

Posts you have already published stay on Instagram. Posts, drafts and publishing history in your Wahlu workspace stay there until you delete them or your brand. We keep records we're required to keep, such as billing and tax records, and rolling backups are overwritten within a limited period, as the Privacy Policy explains.

Enter the confirmation code Instagram gave you to see whether the deletion is complete.
