Data Deletion

If you connected an Instagram professional account to Wahlu, you can remove Wahlu from Instagram itself:

1. In Instagram, open your settings and go to Apps and websites. In the app it's under Website permissions.
2. Under Active, choose Wahlu and select Remove.
3. If Instagram offers to send Wahlu a request to delete your data, send it.

When you remove Wahlu, Meta tells us straight away. We delete the stored access token, remove the Instagram connection from your Wahlu brand and pause that account's automations.

When you also ask for deletion, we delete the data listed under What we delete as soon as the request arrives. Instagram gives you a confirmation code, which you can check below.

In Threads, open Settings, then Account and Website permissions. Choose Wahlu and select Remove. If Threads offers to send Wahlu a request to delete your data, send it.

Meta tells us straight away. We delete the stored access token, remove the Threads connection from your Wahlu brand and cancel its scheduled Threads posts. A deletion request also gives you a confirmation code, which you can check below.

If you connected a Facebook Page, open Facebook Settings and privacy, then Settings and Business integrations. Choose Wahlu and select Remove. Wahlu can then no longer post to your Page. To have us delete the stored connection straight away, disconnect it in Wahlu as described below, or email us.

Pinterest doesn't let apps revoke a person's access, so do both of these:

1. In Wahlu, disconnect the Pinterest account as described below. We delete its stored tokens, profile details and stored Insights numbers straight away.
2. In Pinterest, open Settings, then Apps. Find Wahlu and revoke its access.

If you only remove Wahlu in Pinterest, Wahlu can no longer reach your account and asks you to reconnect it. Disconnect it in Wahlu, delete your account or email us to delete what we stored.

When you disconnect an X account in Wahlu, we revoke Wahlu's access at X first. You can also remove Wahlu in X: open Settings and privacy, then Security and account access, Apps and sessions and Connected apps. Choose Wahlu and revoke its permissions. To have us delete what we stored, disconnect the account in Wahlu too, or email us.

When you disconnect a Bluesky account in Wahlu, we revoke Wahlu's session at your Bluesky server first, then delete what we stored. If your server lets you remove apps you approved, removing Wahlu there also ends its access; disconnect it in Wahlu too, or email us, to delete what we stored.

Wahlu posts to Telegram as its bot, @wahlu_bot. When you disconnect a channel or group in Wahlu, we delete what we stored about it and the bot leaves the chat, unless another Wahlu connection still uses it. You can also remove @wahlu_bot from the chat's administrators or members in Telegram. If you delete a brand, workspace or your Wahlu account instead, remove the bot in Telegram yourself.

When you disconnect a Discord server in Wahlu, we delete what we stored about it and Wahlu's bot leaves the server, unless another Wahlu connection still uses it. You can also remove the bot in Discord: open Server Settings, then Integrations, choose Wahlu and remove it. If you delete a brand, workspace or your Wahlu account instead, remove the bot in Discord yourself.

Tumblr doesn't let apps revoke their access. When you disconnect a Tumblr blog in Wahlu, we delete its stored tokens and blog details straight away. Then remove Wahlu in Tumblr too: open your Tumblr Settings, go to Apps and remove Wahlu. Posts already on Tumblr stay there.

LinkedIn doesn't let apps revoke access. Disconnect your LinkedIn profile or company page in Wahlu as described below, and we delete its stored token and details straight away. You can also remove Wahlu in LinkedIn: open Settings, then Data privacy, Other applications and Permitted services, and remove Wahlu.

When you disconnect a Google Business Profile location in Wahlu, we revoke Wahlu's access at Google first, then delete its stored tokens and location details. You can also remove Wahlu from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/connections; disconnect it in Wahlu too, or email us, to delete what we stored. Posts already on Google stay there.

In Wahlu, open your brand's settings, go to Accounts and select Disconnect next to the account. We delete its stored access token and profile picture, and Wahlu can no longer post or send messages for it.

Your posts, automations and their history stay in your workspace until you delete them. Automation run records are always deleted automatically 30 days after each run starts.

For X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile accounts, we revoke Wahlu's access at the platform first. For X, Bluesky and Pinterest accounts, we also delete the Insights numbers and recent posts we stored for that account.

For Telegram and Discord there is no token of yours to revoke: Wahlu posts with its own bot, which leaves the chat or server when no Wahlu connection uses it any more.

You can delete your account yourself, without installing the app. Sign in to delete your account, review what will be removed, tell us why you're leaving and confirm.

We then cancel your plan, disconnect your social accounts and delete your account, the workspaces you own and their brands, posts, schedules, media, Link in bio page and handle, API keys and connected apps. Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and removing the rest takes a few minutes. Workspaces that someone else owns stay, and you are removed from them.

Afterwards we keep only your answers to the short exit survey and anonymous usage counts that can't be linked back to you, together with the records the Privacy Policy lists, such as billing and tax records.

To delete your whole Wahlu account, a brand, or anything else, email hello@wahlu.com from the email address on your Wahlu account. Tell us what you want deleted. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to complete requests within 30 days.

Some businesses use Wahlu to reply automatically to comments and direct messages on their Instagram account. Wahlu handles that data for the business, and you don't need a Wahlu account to ask for it to be deleted.

• Email hello@wahlu.com with your Instagram username and the business's Instagram account. We'll delete the records we can match to you, including any email you shared with the business in a DM.
• Even if you don't ask, webhook events are deleted automatically after 14 days, and automation run records, including your comment or message, after 30 days.

For an Instagram account, a deletion request removes:

• the Instagram connection: its access token, account IDs, username and profile picture;
• that account's automations in Wahlu;
• their run records: the comments and messages that triggered them, the Instagram-scoped IDs of the people involved, and delivery status;
• saved conversation messages, which are also deleted automatically after 30 days;
• saved AI questions and answers, and daily AI usage totals for that account;
• the emails people shared through that account's automations;
• stored stop and restart choices, human reply pauses and default-reply cooldowns; and
• the webhook events Meta sent us for that account.

AI knowledge and tone belong to the whole brand. They are removed when the brand or workspace is deleted. Credit records are handled separately from message history.

For a Threads account, it removes the Threads connection (its access token, account ID, username and profile picture) and cancels its scheduled Threads posts. Wahlu doesn't store Instagram, Facebook or Threads insights, so there are none to delete.

For an X, Bluesky or Pinterest account, disconnecting or a deletion request removes the connection (its encrypted tokens, account ID, username, name and profile picture) and every Insights row we stored for it: the follower count, the numbers and, for X and Bluesky, the recent posts' text, links and picture addresses. For Pinterest we store numbers only; Pin titles, pictures and boards are never stored. See the Privacy Policy for what each platform shares with Wahlu.

Posts you have already published stay on Instagram. Posts, drafts and publishing history in your Wahlu workspace stay there until you delete them or your brand. We keep records we're required to keep, such as billing and tax records, and rolling backups are overwritten within a limited period, as the Privacy Policy explains.

Enter the confirmation code Instagram or Threads gave you to see whether the deletion is complete.
