How it fits each platform

Limits come from the rules Wahlu's scheduler checks before it publishes. Checks with a documentation link come from the platform's own documentation.

Paste a draft or add an image or video to start.

You'll see the character count, hashtag and mention limits, media checks and a preview for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.

Questions about this tool

Caption limits in Wahlu's scheduler: Instagram 2,200 characters; TikTok 4,000 characters (2,200 for video posts); Facebook 63,206 characters (2,200 for reel posts); YouTube 5,000 bytes for the description and 100 characters for the title; LinkedIn 3,000 characters. Instagram also allows at most 30 hashtags and 20 @ mentions in a caption, and uses only the first 5 hashtags. Stories on Instagram and Facebook don't take a caption.

The checker counts the way Wahlu's scheduler does. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn captions are measured in UTF-16 code units, so most emoji count as 2 and combined emoji such as flags or families count as more. Line breaks count as one each and links count at full length. YouTube descriptions are measured in UTF-8 bytes, where accented letters use 2 and most emoji 4.

No. The text and any file you add are checked in your browser and are not uploaded or saved. Browsers can read a file's type, size, dimensions and length, but not its video codec or frame rate, so the checker lists those for you to confirm.
