Each size comes from the platform’s own help centre, ads guide or developer documentation, and links to that page. All sources were checked on 24 September 2026.
Where a platform publishes a ratio, maximum width or display size instead of exact pixels, the size is marked “Calculated from” and the note explains how. Rows marked Video are listed for reference; the resizer creates images.
Platforms change their specifications without notice. If a size matters for a campaign, open the source before you post.
Questions about image sizes
LinkedIn recommends 1200 × 1200 px for square images, 720 × 900 px (4:5) for vertical images and 1200 × 628 px (1.91:1) for landscape. Images narrower than 401 px display as a thumbnail.
The profile cover (background) image is 1584 × 396 px, as a JPG or PNG under 8 MB. How much of it shows depends on the browser window and screen.
Between 400 × 400 px and 7680 × 4320 px, as a PNG or JPG up to 8 MB. A square photo with your face centred needs the least cropping.
