Switch Instagram to a Business or Creator account

Instagram only lets apps post to professional accounts. Switching is free and takes a minute.

Instagram only lets apps like Wahlu post to professional accounts. That means a Business or Creator account.

Switch your account

These steps are in the Instagram app. Instagram may move things around.

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
  2. Tap the menu, then Account type and tools.
  3. Tap Switch to professional account.
  4. Pick Business or Creator, and follow the steps.

Then connect it to Wahlu

  1. In Wahlu, go to Accounts in the brand menu.
  2. Click + Connect next to Instagram.
  3. Sign in and allow every permission.

Already connected? Reconnect it after you switch.

Questions

Will switching lose my followers or posts?
No. Your followers and posts stay the same. You also get Instagram's own insights.
Business or Creator?
Either works with Wahlu. Pick Business for a shop or company, and Creator for a person.
