Create and schedule a post

The post editor walks you through three steps: Media, Accounts and Write and post. A text post skips Media.

Make a post

1. Click New post. It's the round + at the top right, and in the brand menu.
2. Add up to 10 photos, or one video. Drag them anywhere on the page, click Choose files, or click Choose from library. For words only, click Write a text post instead.
3. Each file shows its upload progress, then Processing. You don't need to wait. Click Next.
4. Under Where should it go?, pick one or more accounts. Wahlu picks the ones you used last time. Click Next.
5. Write your caption. A counter shows if it is too long for any network.
6. Open More options if you want to change a network's settings. The defaults suit most posts.
7. At the bottom, pick Post now or Schedule. For Schedule, choose a date and time.
8. Click Post now or Schedule.

Wahlu saves as you go. You see Saving… and then Draft saved at the top.

Tip: press Ctrl + Enter (or ⌘ + Enter on a Mac) to go to the next step, or to post.

Choose several files from your library

1. Click Choose from library.
2. Click each file in the order you want it to appear. The numbers show the order.
3. Click a file again to remove it from your choice. You can search or change folders without losing your picks.
4. Click Add with the number of files you picked.

You can add up to 10 photos, or one video. Files already in the post count towards this limit. You can also pick files marked Processing and carry on.

If an upload fails

The file shows Upload failed. Click Retry, or click the × to remove it.

Posting while media is processing

After a file uploads, Wahlu gets it ready for each network. This can take a minute for a video. You can post or schedule straight away. Until it's ready, the post shows Processing, and it goes out by itself as soon as it can.

Your uploaded photo or video stays visible while it processes. The finished thumbnail replaces the preview when it is ready. If you reload before processing finishes, the preview may be unavailable until then. Click Change media or Change accounts to go back and edit your choices.

Add to a queue waits until processing is done.

Why a network is missing

Some networks can't take some posts, so Wahlu leaves them out. A short line under the list says why:

• Instagram, TikTok and YouTube need a photo or video.
• YouTube needs a video, and takes one video only.
• Facebook and LinkedIn take up to 10 photos, or one video. They can't mix photos and a video.

Options for each network

Open More options, then the network.

• Instagram: choose Post, Reel or Story. Add up to 5 collaborators. You can also post a Trial Reel.
• Facebook: choose a post or a Story. Stories take one photo or video and no caption.
• TikTok: choose who can see it, and turn comments, duets and stitches on or off. You can also mark paid or brand posts. See TikTok privacy and settings.
• YouTube: add a YouTube title. It's a must. Pick Public, Unlisted or Private, and Short or Video.
• LinkedIn: choose Anyone or Connections only.

For a video, you can also pick the cover frame.

Add labels

Labels help you sort and find your posts later. For example, Offers or Autumn menu.

1. Under the caption, click Labels.
2. Click a label to add it. Click it again to take it off.
3. To make a new one, click New label. Type a name and click Add.

Wahlu saves your labels with the post.

Fix before posting

When you try to post, Wahlu checks your caption and settings. If something would stop it, Fix before posting lists what to change. Fix each item, then try again.

Other actions

Click the … button next to the main button for more:

• Add to a queue: put the post in a queue. See Post at set times with queues.
• Save draft and close: keep it for later.
• Delete draft: throw it away.

The preview on the right is a close guess. Each app lays posts out in its own way.

On the Free plan

With no paid plan, you're on Free. You can post 3 times a month.

• A post counts as soon as you schedule it, or when you click Post now.
• It counts in the month it's scheduled for. A post for next month uses next month's posts.
• One post to several accounts counts once.
• Drafts don't count.
• If a post fails everywhere, or you cancel it before it goes out, you get that post back.

The plan button at the top shows how many posts you have left this month. When they're used, your post stays in Drafts. To post more, or to use Autopilot, start a plan. See How the $1 trial works.
