Post to X

You can connect an X account to a brand and post to it from Wahlu. Scheduling and queues work the same as for your other accounts.

Connect your X account

1. Open your brand and click Accounts in the brand menu.
2. Click + Connect next to X.
3. A new tab opens. Sign in to X and allow what Wahlu asks for.
4. You see Connected and your account name. Click Done.

X links the account you're signed in to on x.com. Check it's the right one first.

Only the workspace owner can connect or remove accounts.

Post to X

1. Click New post.
2. Add your photos or video. For words only, click Write a text post instead.
3. Under Where should it go?, pick your X account.
4. Write your post. The counter shows if it is too long for X.
5. Pick Post now or Schedule, then click it.

What you can post

A photo, GIF or video post doesn't need words. A text post does.

X counts some things in its own way:

• A link counts as 23 characters, however long it is.
• An emoji counts as 2 characters.

Posts with links

X charges apps much more for a post with a link than for one without. So Wahlu counts them.

• Paid plans and the $1 trial: your workspace gets 15 X posts with links each month.
• After that: each extra post with a link costs 85 credits.
• Free: there is no extra count. Links are part of your 3 posts a month.

Good to know:

• The 15 are shared by every brand in your workspace.
• A post sent to two X accounts counts as two.
• The count starts again on the 1st of each month, in UTC time.
• A web address with no "https" still counts as a link, like wahlu.com/pricing.
• Posts with no link don't use any of the 15, and cost no credits.

If you've used your 15 and don't have enough credits, the post doesn't go out. Wahlu never sends it without its link. Take the link out, or buy credits, then schedule it again.

If X refuses a post, Wahlu gives the credits back.

Post a thread

A thread is a few posts in a row. Each post is a reply to the one before.

1. Write your first post as usual.
2. Open X options.
3. Click Add to thread. A new post appears under the first one.
4. Write the post. Each post has its own counter, up to 280 characters.
5. To add photos or a video, click Add media on that post.
6. Click Add to thread again for more posts. You can have up to 25 posts in all.
7. To change the order, drag a post by its handle.
8. To remove a post, click the cross on it.
9. Pick Post now or Schedule, then click it.

Good to know:

• Each post can have up to 4 photos, or one GIF, or one video.
• Every post in a thread counts toward your limits. A thread of 5 posts counts as 5 of your 300 X posts a month.
• Each post in a thread with a link counts as a post with a link.
• If one post fails, the posts before it stay up. Open History and click Post the remaining to send the rest.
• Your AI agent, the API and the CLI can post threads too. Update a CLI or MCP server you run yourself to CLI 0.9.0 or MCP server 0.16.0 first.

Post to X from your AI agent

Your AI agent, the API and the CLI can post to X too. The same rules and limits apply.

If you run the Wahlu CLI or MCP server on your own computer, update it first. You need CLI 0.7.0 or later, or MCP server 0.14.0 or later. Older versions show an error once a brand has an X account.

How many posts you can send

• Paid plans and the $1 trial: up to 300 posts to X each month for your workspace.
• Free: X posts are part of your 3 posts a month.
• A post sent to two X accounts counts as two.
• Each brand can send up to 50 posts to X in 24 hours. Your plan's daily cap may be lower.

The 300 starts again on the 1st of each month, in UTC time. Wahlu tells you when you get close.

On a very busy day for all of Wahlu, a post to X can wait a short while. It then goes out on its own.

See how your posts did

On paid plans and the $1 trial, Wahlu shows numbers for your X account.

1. Open your brand and click Insights in the brand menu.
2. Pick your X account in the row at the top.
3. See your Followers and totals for your latest posts.
4. Under Posts, see the numbers for your 10 latest posts.
5. Click Refresh to load the latest numbers.

Each post shows impressions, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, bookmarks, video views, link clicks and profile clicks.

Good to know:

• Posts made on X itself are listed too. Posts sent from Wahlu have a via Wahlu tag.
• Wahlu saves the numbers. Click Refresh, or the refresh icon on a post, to update them.
• X gives link clicks and profile clicks for a post's first 30 days only.
• A dash means X has no number for that post.
• On Free, you see a note about paid plans there.

One post, one X account

X does not allow the same post on more than one X account. It also blocks the same post twice on one account.

So Wahlu sends the same X post once in any 7 days, to one X account. This counts every X account in your workspace.

• A post can go to one X account. If you run two, make a second post with different words.
• Capital letters and spacing do not make a post different. Change the words.
• Wahlu tells you when you schedule, so the post does not fail later.
• A looping queue repeats its posts. On X, each post needs more than 7 days before it comes round again. Add more posts or slow the queue down.

The same words on X and on your other networks are fine.

Not available yet

If a post fails

• Too long. Keep it to 280 characters by X's count.
• Same post twice. The same post went to X in the last 7 days. Change the words, or wait 7 days.
• Connection ended. Reconnect your account.
• Not enough credits for a link. Take the link out or buy credits.
• Monthly limit reached. Your workspace has sent its 300 X posts for the month. It starts again on the 1st.
